The Lake Area Community Band is celebrating over 25 years of concerts this year and welcomed quite a crowd to their July 4 concert at Syracuse Lakeside Park.
The band began with the playing of the National Anthem at 7:30 p.m. and continued to charm audiences young and old with unique compositions and medleys of favorite tunes from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
The Lake Area Community Band played for about 90 minutes, which left plenty of time for families and friends to gather in the park for cook-outs, picnics and general play time before the fireworks over Syracuse Lake began just after dusk.
On Saturday, Syracuse again came out to take part in holiday festivities which included a parade along SR 13. Reporter Stephanie Loney was in attendance for the parade and shared with us some scenes from that.
