Irene Margaret King
Irene Margaret King, 93, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Irene was born on May 23, 1920, in Morris, Minn., to Ray H. and Agnes G. Landon. On June 19, 1943, she was married to Joseph A. King. He preceded her in death.
She retired after 40 years with the U.S. Post Office in Sodus, Mich., where she was a member of the Sodus School Alumni Association. Irene was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 18 years, moving to the area in 1995. She was a member of the Rural Carriers Association, the Kosciusko County Historical Society and Genealogy Society, and the Warsaw Animal Welfare League.
She is survived by a son: A. Ray (Darlene) King, Fort Wayne, Ind.; foster daughter: Barbara (Charles) Blagburn, Caruthersville, Mo.; three grandchildren: Michael King, Fort Wayne; Ryan (Becky) King, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Steven (Nicole) Blagburn, Memphis, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter: Jazzlyn King, Fort Wayne; three great-grandsons: Troy King, Colton King and Dalton Blagburn; her special family: Scott and Debbie McClintock and their sons, Jason and Trent McClintock, all of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her son: Joseph Robert King.
A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at Shanghai Cemetery in Eau Claire, Mich., with Reverend Russell Logston officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Irene’s name may be directed to the Help Hospitalized Veterans or Feed the Children and would be appreciated by her family.
