Donald L. Niccum, 62, Bremen, Ala., and formerly of North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 8:22 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born in Wabash, Ind., on Aug. 19, 1950, to Edward R. and Esther (Merrick) Niccum. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1969, served his country in the United States Navy, and was a heavy equipment operator. He married Judy D. Hall. She preceded him in death.
Donald attended Bethany Baptist Church (Church on the Lake) in Bremen, and enjoyed his grandchildren and fishing.
Surviving are four sons: Nico (Karen) Figueroa, Aurora, Colo.; Jonathon E. Niccum, Bremen; Frank Anthony (Anna) Niccum, Santa Cruz, Calif.; James (Shanna) Hays, Bremen; two daughters: Kimberly M. Niccum, Las Vegas, Nev.; Christina Hays, Hanceville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Rexford (Mary Ethel) Niccum, Combes, Texas; Clark Niccum, Fort Wayne; Ronald (Barbara) Niccum, Stafford Springs, Conn.; and a sister: Patsy (William) Wimmer, Columbia City, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Gold Cemetery, Scottsboro, Ala.
