Accidents
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, 4:30 p.m. Private property south of Lakeview Road, Syracuse. Driver: Samantha Paige, 17, East Palm Drive, Syracuse. Paige was backing her vehicle and failed to see a parked vehicle registered to Timothy J. Tucker, Crescent Drive, Warsaw, hitting the driver’s side rear door. Damages: under $1,000
Friday, June 14, 6:45 p.m. South Huntington Street east of Pickwick Drive. Drivers: Austin C. Miller, 28, North Tucker Street, Mentone, and Scott D. Mehlberg, 39, South East Ridge North Drive, Warsaw. Miller was distracted by a child in the back seat and struck the Mehlberg vehicle which had parked in front of him. Damages: up to $2,500
Incidents
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:
- Sunday, June 16 1:38 p.m. Randal Woodcock, reported while his vehicle was parked on East Bowser Road it was backed into.
- Friday, 11 a.m. Larry William Grace, Davisburg, Mich., reported the theft of a cell phone while at McDonald’s.
Arrests
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently made the following arrest:
- Thursday, 12:03 a.m. Chase Terry, 21, North Eastshore Drive, Syracuse, arrested for resisting/fleeing law enforcement with a vehicle and possession of stolen property. Bond: $2,000. Terry was driving a vehicle reported stolen out of Goshen. When Syracuse Police attempted to stop the vehicle, he attempted to flee, but was apprehended by authorities. Assisting was Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Ligonier Police Department and Millersburg Police Department.
