Hoops Hall Of Fame Honors Inductees
WINONA LAKE – The Kosciusko County Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed its latest class of inductees Saturday night.
A total of 19 new members were inducted into the fourth class for the Hall of Fame during ceremonies at the Orthopaedic Capital Center on the Grace College campus.
The newest class of the Hall of Fame includes Don Lozier, Tom Firestone, John McFarren, John Clay, Rita Price, Dick Stouder, Bill Patrick and Jerry Ryman.
Also inducted Saturday night were Jim Stouder, Bob Creighton, Al Study, Lavon Harman, Bob Long, Norm Hagg, Jon Sroufe, Emery Brandenburg, Jim Irwin, Rex Woodruff and Chuck Fleischauer.
Also recognized at Saturday night’s ceremony was the 1953-54 Mentone Bulldogs team.
Price and Patrick are both also members of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The highly-respected Price, who has been broadcasting games on WRSW since 1976, was inducted in 2006. Patrick, who has been the boys basketball coach at Tippecanoe Valley High School for the last 15 years, was inducted in 2008. Patrick, a 1956 Sidney High School graduate, ranks fifth all-time in state history with 713 career coaching wins at South Whitley, Whitko and Valley.
The Kosciusko County Basketball Hall of Fame now has 65 members.
