UPDATE: Fire At Donnelley’s
At about 9:05 p.m. Sunday, firefighters of the Warsaw-Warsaw Fire Territory were called to a reported fire at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., 2801 W. Old Rd. 30, Warsaw.
While fire personnel were responding, Atwood and Winona Lake fire departments were also called for full assist when there was another report that flames were visible.
The building was quickly evacuated.
According to WWFT Chief Mike Brubaker, the fire was contained to a dust collector outside of the baler room and was brought under control just before 10 p.m. Brubaker said the cause of the fire was attributed to shredded paper that became dislodged outside of tubing that is used to blow the debris into the baler room and ignited.
Brubaker said there was no structural damage due to the fire, but a motor used in the dust collector became extremely hot and may have experienced damages.
Also assisting on scene was Multi-Township EMS.
