On Dec. 4, 1920, she was born in Warsaw to William Petro Sr. and Nellie (Garber) Petro – Poland. She married John Herbert Fisher in 1949, who preceded her in death in 1994.
Marie was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She also lived in Lake Placid, Fla., during the wintertime. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
Marie was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and master gardener of the famous Petro peppers. She also was an avid golfer, expert fisherman and filleter of blue gill and accomplished Bridge champion.
Marie is survived by two sisters: Margaret Petro Like, Sebring, Fla.; and Marjorie Petro Mitterling, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Trudi Bricker Williams, Margie Fisher Morrison, William Petro Fisher, Charlene Fisher Alexander and Beau James Bricker; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother: William Petro Jr.; and two children: Judy Fisher Pequignot and William H. Fisher.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Carmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
