Robert ‘Bob’ Clayton Vandermark
Robert “Bob” Clayton Vandermark, 61, of Larwill, Ind., passed away at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at his residence.
He owned and operated Vandermark Sign Company on U.S. 30 in Larwill. He was a resident of Whitley County, Ind., for the past 30 years. He graduated from Syracuse High School in Syracuse, Ind., and then received his B.A. in 1978 from Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict serving from 1969 until his honorable discharge in April 1972.
Bob loved to work on his genealogy, travel, meet new people, and especially share his faith in God.
He was born July 18, 1951, in Warsaw, Ind., to the late Robert Clayton Vandermark Sr. and Shirley Mae (Hogan) Geer, who survives. On July 29, 1972, in Findlay, Ohio, he married Barbara June Witt, who survives in Larwill.
He is also survived by a son: Rob Vandermark, Alabama; one daughter: Summer (Brannon) Davis, Larwill; two grandchildren: Trey and Austin Seban; his mother: Shirley Geer, Larwill; and three sisters: Marcia Greer, North Port, Fla.; Marcia (LeRoy) Moon, Elkhart, Ind.; Charlotte Andrews, Niles, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his father,and one brother.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Larwill with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post # 258 of Pierceton, Indiana and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
