“I didn’t play or practice for three days after State,” said Carpenter in a press release following the first round. “This was my first time seeing this course and I am happy with how I played today. I hope to make the cut and we’ll see what happens from there.”
Carpenter shot rounds of 74 and 73 at the State Finals at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin June 11-12 to end at three over par 147 for the tournament and in a tie for 23rd place among the 100 golfers in the State Finals field.
