Lady Tigers Successful In Scotland
The Class of 2017 Lady Tigers wrapped up their play on the basketball court with a pair of wins in Scotland over the weekend.
The team, comprised of nine young ladies who will be freshman at WCHS this fall, is currently on a trip to Ireland and Scotland.
The Lady Tigers defeated the Scotland U-15 squad 63-43.
Mariah Rivera led the Lady Tigers to the victory with 13 points. Kenzie Welk and Madison Graham each had 10 points for the winners.
Alyssa Atkins netted nine points and Madison Martz scored seven for Warsaw. Dayton Groninger and Mary Ann Marandet each had six points and Abby Glass two. Allison Miller had three rebounds for the winners.
Groninger also had 11 rebounds and Marandet 10 for the Lady Tigers.
The Scotland U-16 team edged the Lady Tigers 50-48.
Welk scored 14 points and Rivera had 13 to pace Warsaw. Groninger tallied eight points, while Marandet had six and Miller four. Martz scored two points and Atkins one.
Warsaw then avenged its loss by beating the Scotland U-16 team 65-54.
Groninger turned in a big game for the Lady Tigers with 18 points to go with 17 rebounds in the win.
Welk and Atkins each netted 13 points in the victory. Graham scored nine points, while Rivera had five, Martz four and Marandet three.
The Lady Tigers, who are coached by Joe Graham, are slated to return to Warsaw early this coming week.
