He was born Jan. 1, 1940, in Goshen to Lawrence Fred and Margaret (Bates) Neff. On June 28, 1970, in Muskogee, Okla., he married Artis Lovita Underwood, the love of his life for 47 years.
He had worked as a diesel mechanic at Omnisource. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and reading western novels.
He is survived by three children: Sue (Dan) Buzzard, Goshen; Diane (Jim) Wendling, Wichita, Kan.; Donn B. (Kim) Neff II, New Paris, Ind.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sue (Kenton) Holdeman and Mary Ann (Marvin) Lampley, both of Goshen; and two brothers: Richard (Linda) Neff and Dale Neff, both of Syracuse, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a granddaughter: Aubrey Thompson.
No services are planned. His body will be cremated by Yoder-Culp Crematory.
