Ronald L. Brown
Ronald L. Brown, 78, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:55 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Mentone, Ind., to Francis and Letha (Goodman) Brown. On May 7, 1988, in Spokane, Wash., Ron was married to Judith Rhoads. She survives.
Ron retired from United Telephone of Warsaw, in 1992 after 38 years of service. Ron was a graduate of Mentone High School in 1953. He served in the Active Military Reserves. He attended the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Warsaw. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49 of Warsaw, and the Mentone Flying Club. In his earlier years he had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying small planes.
He is survived by his wife; two stepdaughters: Tamara Clemons, Warsaw; Kristina Stahl, Huntington, Ind.; five step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Pastor David Cripe and Eulogy will be given by Pastor Richard Chappell. Burial will take place in Mentone Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 49. Arrangements are being handled by Hartzler Funeral Services.
