Terry L. Swoverland
Terry L. Swoverland, 48, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday June 4, 2013, in his residence
He was born on July 15, 1964, in Warsaw, Ind., to Jon and Linda (Hull) Swoverland, who survive. He has been a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
On April 30, 2005, in Indianapolis, he married Holly Monroe, who survives.
Terry was a reserve officer for Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years obtaining the rank of lieutenant and a firearms instructor. He was also employed for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 29 years.
He was a member of Christ Covent Church in Winona Lake. Terry enjoyed hunting, shooting, playing the guitar and the saxophone.
Terry is survived by his wife: Holly Swoverland, Leesburg; his parents: Jon and Linda (Hull) Swoverland, Warsaw; a son: David John (Brenda) Swoverland, Huntington, Ind.; two daughters: Amanda (Ryan) Woods, Warsaw; and Brittany (Kyle) Wuchter, Warsaw; his grandmother: Mary Hull, Winona Lake, Ind.; a stepson: Adam Roberts, Leesburg; a stepdaughter: Shelby Roberts, Leesburg; a sister: Katrina (Ron) Brandenburg, Warsaw; grandchildren: Dayna Kinley, David Smith, Huntington, Ind.; Hunter and Hannah Swoverland, Columbia City, Ind.; Aiden, Rieanna and Logan Woods, Warsaw; and nieces and nephew: Courtney, Cara and Cameron Brandenburg, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Miriam and Howard Swoverland and Austin Hull.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the funeral home with pastors Larry McCall and Rod Valentine officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
