Red Cross Promotes National CPR, AED Awareness Week

National CPR and AED Awareness Week is June 1-7 and it’s a great opportunity to learn how to save a life by getting certified in CPR and AED training.

Local American Red Cross chapters are encouraging people to sign up for training at  People are also encouraged to download the free Red Cross First Aid app, which puts expert advice on everyday emergencies at the fingertips.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
