Summer Reading Program
Sign up starts June 3 for this summer’s reading program. The theme for children (newborn – going into 5th grade) is “Dig into Reading!”
Join Milford Public Library’s ant colony for a summer of entertaining programs and great new books to read about the fascinating underground world beneath our feet. Prizes for every 5 hours read!
For teens (going into 6th grade – 12th grade) the theme is “Beneath the Surface!” Get in the “Hobbit” of reading and visit Middle Earth in the teen department. Become a part of the library’s fantasy world and take an unexpected journey! Sign up and read five hours by July 22 and put your name in a drawing to win a Kindle.
Special Events for Summer Reading Program
On June 5, Milford Public Library will be kicking off the summer reading program with Raiders of the Lost Book with special guest, the Fort Wayne Mad Anthony Basketball ant mascot. Come have your picture taken with the Ant at 1:30 p.m. and stay for the Raiders of the Lost Book program at 2 p.m. at the Milford Community Building.
Teens, come to the library at 2 p.m. June 6 in the meeting room for a Mind Reading program. What’s floating around in your unconscious mind? Come join Jack Strauss as he astounds you with his great mind-reading abilities.
Story Time is scheduled for 11 a.m. each Friday. Story Time is not just for your children but for the entire family. This year MPL has been fortunate enough to receive some grant money from the DEKKO Foundation so that each family attending a story time will receive a new book to add to their home library. The library has a terrific line-up of guest storytellers. Register at the children’s circulation desk today!
Family Summer Story time will start June 7. Miss Dot will be the special guest storyteller with the theme All About Me.
Sign up June 3 for this summer’s first food and fun day! This will be offered at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. on June 12. Limited to first 25 (per session), so sign up June 3. The theme for the day will be dirt. We will be making terrariums and eating dirt!
