She was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 53 years where she was a homemaker, and member of God’s Highway to Heaven Church in Warsaw.
She was born in Floyd County, Ky., on Aug. 26, 1922, to Malcolm Adams and Lula (Sparks) Adams. On April 15, 1939, she was married to Virgil Preston Prater, who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2001.
Pearlie is survived by five sons: Wilford (Vickie) Prater, Warsaw; Cliff Prater, Warsaw; Don (Judy) Prater, Claypool, Ind.; Ron (Carla) Prater, Warsaw; Arnold (Amy) Prater, Silver Lake, Ind.; and five daughters: Juanita (Nathan) Shepherd, Warsaw; Geneva (Rick) Bayne, Warsaw; Phyllis (Greg) Varney, Warsaw; Mary Prater, Warsaw; Barb (Darrell) Prater, Warsaw; 30 grandchildren; over 100 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Nancy Adams Manuel, Prestonsburg, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Virgil Preston Prater; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three brothers; two sisters and a daughter-in-law.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at God’s Highway to Heaven Church, 555 W. Weber St., Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Bob Brown. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
