Bus Driver ‘Fair, Stable’ Following Surgery
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies have now released the names of the four bus drivers in the Wednesday accident involving four school buses.
As StaceyPageOnline.com had already confirmed (See story), police today say Cynthia K. Routh, 64, North Webster, was driving the lead bus that stopped to allow a student, Marcus Gagye, to exit her school bus.
David W. Granger, 63, Warsaw, was following behind Routh. Julie K. Close, 47, Syracuse, was operating the third bus directly behind Granger when she was rear-ended by a bus driven by John R. Wagoner, 61, of North Webster. The impact caused a chain reaction of all four buses.
Parkview Regional Medical Center officials have advised Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team investigators that Wagoner was out of surgery from last night and is currently listed in stable and fair condition from internal injuries.
Close was reportedly in fair condition with an unspecified leg injury.
Currently, officers have not been advised by Wawasee Community School officials if the total number of students injured has risen from the estimate amounts from last night. Deputies were advised that counselors would be made available at the Wawasee Middle and High School today for students.
