Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, May 20, 8:36 p.m. 100 E. Canal St. Driver: Bruce A. Whiteneck, 73, Warsaw. Whiteneck said he pulled into a parking space at the park when his vehicle jumped into gear causing it to go over the curb and strike a light pole. Damages: up to $5,000
Monday, May 20, 3:48 p.m. East Main Street. Driver: Mallikarjun Chabukswar, 35, Orchard Drive, Warsaw. Chabukswar turned too soon and collided with a parked vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Monday, May 20, 3:26 p.m. Center Street and Frontage Road. Drivers: Sarah E. Himes, 35, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw; and Karissa Auer, 23, North Happiness Drive, Syracuse. Himes said she was traveling east on Center Street and noticed the traffic signal change to yellow. She applied her brakes but did not stop in time and collided with Auer’s vehicle, which was making a left turn from westbound Center Street on a yellow light. Himes complained of back pain. Damages: up to $10,000
Monday, May 20, 3:08 p.m. Lake City Highway and Old Road 30. Drivers: Cheryl L. Wise, 44, North Columbia Street, Warsaw; and Garold E. Bumbaugh, 57, South 450 West, Claypool. Wise was traveling south crossing U.S. 30 and struck Bumbaugh’s vehicle, which was westbound on the highway. Both drivers claimed they had the green light. No witnesses remained at the scene. Damages: up to $2,500
