Milford Facebook Claim Not Yet Substantiated
A post circulating on Facebook has lead to concern among citizens in Milford, but Milford Police say there is no evidence yet to support the claim that a man is watching children.
According to the post, which has been shared over 107 times, an older man with white hair was seen driving a maroon colored vehicle, parking and watching young children. The post claims the incident has been reported to police and encourages anyone who has seen someone fitting this description to contact Milford Police Department. However, according to Milford Town Marshall Rich Miotto, an official report has yet to be made for the incident.
According to Miotto, he was approached by a concerned neighbor who gave a third-hand account of the alleged suspicious activity. Miotto stated, however, that no other complaints have been filed in regards to a man watching young children. He also stated the exact details of what occurred were not concrete at this time.
Though an official report has not been made by the person who witnessed the incident, Miotto did say he is planning to investigate the situation further and is attempting to make contact with the witness to obtain a first-hand account of what happened.
Officer Miotto encouraged anyone with more information to contact the Milford Police Department directly at 574-658-4941. The Milford Police Department is located at 121 S. Main St., Milford.
