Variances Clear BZA Board
Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday morning in Warsaw and considered only a few cases during a brief agenda.
Anthony Click’s petition was considered again after remonstrators at the April meeting expressed concerns about potential drainage problems. Click lives on EMS B63 Lane, south of Barbee Road, and petitioned for a variance for a residence addition. Information from the county surveyor’s office indicated the drainage would not be impacted negatively, so the BZA approved his petition.
Also on the agenda, Ricky and Pamela Smith’s petition was approved to allow a residence addition 21 feet from the right-of-way on EMS T32 Lane, west of EMS T32C Lane at Tippecanoe Lake.
And Diana Welker was granted a variance to allow an accessory shed to remain 25 feet from the right-of-way of the road, not 15.8 feet as originally requested. The BZA reasoned a sewer line will hopefully be placed there soon, and the minimum setback required would be 25 feet anyway. The property is located on EMS B61 Lane, southwest of EMS B61B Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
