Arthritis Walk Set For June 1
Join the fight against the nation’s leading cause of disability by taking part in the Warsaw Arthritis Walk on Saturday, June 1, at Winona Lake Senior Center, 1590 Park Ave., Winona Lake.
The Arthritis Walk is an annual 5K walk (with a 1-mile turn around option) held by the Arthritis Foundation to raise funds to fight arthritis and spread the message that regular movement can limit the impact of arthritis. Check in will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the race will start at 10 a.m.
The Warsaw Arthritis Walk will feature Honoree Charlie Frisinger and Medical Honoree Matt Hauck.
Arthritis affects 50 million Americans, one in every five adults. While often associated with old age, arthritis can affect men, women and children of any age. In fact, there are currently 300,000 children in the U.S. living with arthritis. In Indiana alone, 1,356,000 adults are affected by arthritis. More than just aches and pains, arthritis is a chronic condition that can make everyday activities such as getting dressed and preparing food almost impossible.
The Arthritis Walk is a way to conquer this debilitating and unacceptable disease by raising funds for arthritis research, education and programs in communities across the country.
