Food, Bands, Benefit Hoosier Burn Camp
The 3rd Annual Region 1 American Bikers Aimed Towards Education of Indiana benefit for the Hoosier Burn Camp is underway at the Kosciusko County Community Fairgrounds and the fun goes on until 5 p.m.
A five-county Battle of the Bands is happening all day, as is a hog roast, chicken barbecue and hot dog dinner complete with salad and chips. There’s even a beer garden.
Getting underway around noon will be a waterball challenge between several local fire departments including Warsaw, Winona Lake, North Webster and Claypool.
Cost for the event is $15 per person and those under the age of 14 are free. The cost and other donations raised from the event will benefit the Hoosier Burn Camp, a camp dedicated to children who have been the victims of serious burn wounds. The camp’s goal is to help children feel like “just one of the kids.
Last year, Kosciusko County’s benefit sent 16 children to the burn camp. Event organizer Ty Marshall says this year’s goal is send 32 children.
The public is encouraged to attend.
