Carroll Sweeps Tigers On Diamond
FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw baseball team came up on the short end of a pair of contests at Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday.
The hosts took game one of the non-conference double dip 5-3 and completed the sweep with a 7-3 win in the nightcap.
Tyler LaFollette and Jared Lemler each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Tigers in the first game.
Jason Ferguson took the pitching loss to drop his season mark to 4-2 for Warsaw.
Winning pitcher Cody Chase had 11 strikeouts for Carroll and Grant Inman hit a home run.
Michael Miller led the Tigers with two hits, including a double, in the game two loss.
Starting pitcher Caleb Moneyheffer allowed four earned runs in two innings on the hill and took the loss for Warsaw.
Luke Brummer led Carroll with three RBI in the 7-3 win.
Warsaw, now 10-12 overall, plays at NLC foe Concord Monday at 5 p.m.
The Warsaw JV team split a twinbill versus DeKalb on Saturday. DeKalb won the opener 13-1 and the Tigers took the nightcap 6-5. Jonathan Murphy notched the pitching win in game two and Josh Fitzgerald had two hits for Warsaw. The JV Tigers are no 11-9 on the season.
