Paul E. Blair
Paul E. Blair, 78, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 8:35 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, in his home.
He was born April 4, 1935, in Johnson City, Ky., to Virgil and Lillie (Castle) Blair. He was in the United States Army Reserves for 8 years and resided in Warsaw since September 1956.
On Sept. 10, 1954, he married Anna J. Elliott in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Paul worked as a supervisor at Fairmont Homes for 18 years, retiring in 1986. He was a loving and caring husband, greatest dad and a most loving papaw; a man of strength who his family could always depend on. He was known for saying he was worth a million dollars because he raised 8 children and they were all healthy. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening and camping; he was a great story teller and never knew a stranger. He loved his dog, Susie.
Paul is survived by his wife: Anna Blair, Warsaw; two sons: Paul (Bonnie) Blair Jr., Warsaw; and William (Coleen) Blair, Warsaw; six daughters: Mary (Davin Setser) Hite, Warsaw; Margie (Doug) Redden, San Leon, Texas; Barbara (James) Bryant, McKinney, Texas; Debbie (Troy) Smith, Winona Lake, Ind.; Kimberly (Lonnie) Taylor, Alvarado, Texas; and Jennifer (Danny) Hilliard, Mentone, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; four sisters: Betty Lewis, Pierceton, Ind.; Mamie Field, Warsaw; Vergie Little, Prestonsburg, Ky.; and Geraldine (Thurman) Lafferty, Prestonsburg, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the funeral home. Pastor Jimmy Shepherd, Shiloh Baptist Church, Ligonier, Ind., will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
