Epworth Forest Center Opens New Entrance
On Sunday, April 28, Epworth Forest Conference Center in North Webster held a dedication to celebrate the opening of the long awaited new entrance road to the Christian camp and retreat center. EFCC is a growing church camp in Northern Indiana. This entrance road clears the path for the next step of adding more new lodging facilities for campers and retreat guests as well as the eventual construction of a new worship facility.
More than 150 donors and supporters from throughout Indiana who believe the ministry of a camp setting to be one of the most effective means of reaching youth and transforming lives through Jesus Christ were in attendance. Bishop Michael Coyner of the Indiana Conference UMC hosted the dedication.
EFCC, which opened in 1924, has served hundreds of thousands of visitors at its facilities and programs including Epworth Forest Choir School, special needs camps, custom retreats, Fall Youth Rally, Sr. High Institute, and the newly launched high school camp, That Thing.
Growth has become a constant theme at the camp as more and more guests are on site each year and construction projects have become an expectation. Epworth Forest Conference Center exists to share the gospel of Jesus Christ for the transformation of lives; lives that might live out the gospel by becoming the response to physical, spiritual, and emotional need throughout our local and global communities.
EFCC is one of seven camp locations operated by Impact 2818, the outdoor ministry of the Indiana Conference United Methodist Church, a nonprofit 501(c)(3). For more information, contact Nate Haywood at 574-834-2212 or visit www.impact2818.com.
