Junior Achievement Holding Benefit Run
SYRACUSE – It’s time to lace up your running shoes and join Junior Achievement (JA) of Wawasee at Lakeside Fitness in Syracuse on May 18 to have a great time while raising funds to support JA.
JA programs teach young people about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. For example, third grade students learn how to plan a city as part of Junior Achievement’s Our City program, and high school students learn basic concepts of economics through JA ECON taught by local professionals who volunteer in the classroom.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. May 18 with the 5K race at 9 a.m. the same morning. Pre-register by May 10 for a free t-shirt and to be entered to win a free three-month membership to Lakeside Fitness.
Fees are $15 to pre-register, $20 day of race. All proceeds benefit JA programs for Wawasee Schools. The race will also be featuring Tommy Locklin, local fitness and running success story with inspirational words from his More Than Just Miles journey.
Call Junior Achievement of Wawasee at (574) 527-2080 for more details on how to get involved.
