Winona Lake Hosts Numerous Summer Programs
The Winona Lake Parks and Recreation Guide for 2013 boasts numerous events for members of the community of all ages to enjoy. From stories in the park, playgroups, and preschool classes for the young to canoeing, hiking, and zumba for the young at heart.
An example of events will include:
- Stories in the Park – 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, June 12 to July 31.
- Playgroup – 11 a.m. to 11:30 am. Fridays, June 10 to Aug. 3.
- Frisbee Golf – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays throughout summer.
- Poms Cheerleading Camp – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1 to Wednesday, July 5.
- Free Swimming Lessons – Held at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 10 to Aug. 2.
- Preschool Classes – 9 am. to 10 a.m. Registration due on Thursdays, June 6 to July 25 the week prior to attendance. An early registration date will be held on Wednesday, July 3, to observe the holiday.
- PeeWee Sports – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays, June 13 to July 25.
- Tennis – PeWee (ages 3-5) 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Youth (ages 6 and up) held 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
