Three Hurt In Flood-Related Crash
A one-car crash near Nappanee Thursday afternoon injured three people and is being blamed on standing water.
Elliott Correll, 52, of Nappanee, was northbound on CR 3 north of U.S. 6 at about 4:51 p.m. when his car hit standing water. Correll lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and struck a tree.
Correll sustained a broken nose and a hand laceration. Two passengers in the car were also hurt. Bo Correll, 13, also of Nappanee, suffered a facial laceration and complained of head pain. Issac Jacobson, 4, of Syracuse, also suffered a facial laceration and complained of head pain.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash. Elliott Correll was cited for not wearing a seat belt and for non-restraint of a child.
