Martin Hardware Closing In Nappanee After 41 Years
Martin Hardware of Nappanee announced to StaceyPageOnline.com today that the business will be closing its doors in roughly a month’s time.
The three storied store, which has been a Nappanee staple business since 1958, is closing its doors due to the retirement of owner Dennis Martin, who has run the business for the past 41 years.
According to Martin, the business, fixtures and location are currently up for sale. Though Martin stated there has been interest in purchasing the hardware store, nothing concrete has been decided at this time. Martin said the building, which is owned by him, is currently up for negotiations for lease or purchase.
The business will be running sales on items such as hardware, fixtures and antiques throughout the next month. Martin also said the business, which has prided itself on high quality customer service, will continue offering services and special orders.
“We have prided ourselves on high quality customer service for quality products,” said Martin. According to Martin, the hardware store has focused on working with customers on a long-term basis, instead of selling customers an item.
Martin Hardware has tried to maintain continual relationships with his customers taking them from start to finish on their projects. The special attention to customer service has been a major driving point for the business and Martin states the hardware store has made efforts over the years to ensure customers find whatever they need within its walls.
“It would be easier for me to tell you what we don’t have than what we do,” said Martin with a laugh. “Our motto has been, if we don’t have it, we’ll get it. And if we can’t get it, you don’t need it.”
Though his future plans are currently undetermined, Martin said he is hoping to do a little traveling with his wife and possibly take up golf.
