Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Saturday, April 13, 8:11 a.m. 707 E. Main St., Warsaw. Kim Silveus of North Tamarack Street, Warsaw, reported a red Jeep Cherokee crashed into her yard and was left abandoned. Silveus reported hearing a loud noise at about 3:30 a.m., a time which the police report indicates correlated with the time police were trying to stop a vehicle that fled when police tried to make a traffic stop. The vehicle was found in a flower bed and had struck a utility pole, broke three small trees and destroyed the flower bed and wooden landscaping. Police noted the vehicle had open beer cans in the front passenger seat and smelled of alcohol. A note was left on the windshield that read, “Please don’t tow, brakes went out will get by noon. Thank Your.”
