Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, April 8, 5:43 a.m. North SR 15, Milford. Drivers: Eric T. Estep, 31, North 175 East, Warsaw; and Chadd A. Brown, 30, East Robby Drive, Warsaw. Both drivers were northbound on SR 15. Brown was upset with Estep for tailgating so closely that Brown was unable to see the headlights of Estep’s vehicle. Brown braked and Estep rear-ended his vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
Monday, April 8, 8:10 a.m. EMS B38 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Sonya R. Ohaver, 40, EMS B38 Lane, Leesburg. Driver said she blacked out and drove off of the road and was unable to correct before colliding into a tree. Ohaver was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for evaluation. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, April 7, 2:16 p.m. West 640 North and North 800 West, Warsaw. Driver: Barbara L. Griffey, 77, Wren Street, Elkhart. Driver hit a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, April 5, 5:06 p.m. West 200 South and South 800 West, Etna Green. Drivers: Harold D. Vandoren, 43, North 1000 East, Pierceton; and Abraham Bartolo, 28, Peter Street, Logansport. Vandoren was northbound on South 800 West and stopped for a stop sign, however, she proceeded into the path of Bartolo’s vehicle when she failed to see it. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, April 5, 6:12 p.m. 2100 block of Fox Farm Rd., Warsaw. Driver unknown. Christina Wadkins reported a hit and run to her vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, April 5, 12:13 p.m. East South Barbee Drive, North Webster. Driver: Sarah A. Schaefer, EMS B1A Lane, Warsaw. The vehicle slid on sand that was on the road at a curve causing the driver to lose control and strike an embankment. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, April 5, 2:01 a.m. U.S. 30 and East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Kristopher C. Shepherd, 25, West Walnut Street, South Whitley. Driver said he fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into the median and struck two signs. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Friday, April 5, 12:16 p.m. Eastlake Drive and Frontage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Nathaniel D. Harley, 18, Parmenter Rd., Burbank, Ohio; and Randi E. Lauer, 32, East Wesley Lane, North Webster. Harley said he was westbound on a private drive and stopped at the stop sign but then proceeded into the path of Lauer’s vehicle believing it was a four-way stop. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, April 5, 12:26 p.m. Jalynn and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Ty W. Marshall Brown, 18, West Corlys Lane, Silver Lake; and Holly R. Rowe, 28, Fibia PL-92, Fort Wayne. Brown was eastbound on Jalynn Street and attempting to turn north onto North Detroit Street when he was struck by Rowe’s vehicle, which was turning from northbound Detroit Street onto Jalynn Street. Rowe said she had the green light and a witness said Brown failed to yield the right of way. All parties refused medical treatment. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, April 5, 4:39 p.m. West Winona Avenue and South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charity M. Moody, 26, South Line Street, Columbia City; and Joshua A. Miller, 24, East 125 South, Pierceton. Moody rear-ended Miller’s vehicle when Miller was stopped at the intersection. A witness said Moody was traveling at a high rate of speed. No injuries were reported. Damages: up to $25,000
