Child molesting charges have been filed against a Warsaw man following an investigation by Warsaw Police Department.

Shannon Lee Webb, 33, 423 Fort Wayne St., was arrested around 9 p.m. Thursday night on two class A felony counts of child molesting involving a victim less than 14 years old.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the mother of the girl learned of an “inappropriate relationship” between her daughter and Webb through a third party. When the mother saw her daughter’s cell phone, she found a photo that Webb allegedly sent of male genitalia, and semi-nude photos that the girl had sent of herself to Webb.

During police questioning, the girl refused to discuss how far the relationship went. Texts found on her phone, that was taken into evidence, indicated Webb had intercourse with the girl.

When Webb was questioned by police, he admitted to performing oral sex on the victim and to having intercourse with her at Center Lake Park. Webb also admitted he did have concerns that the girl may have been younger than she said.

Webb was arrested and held on a $20,000 bond.
