Kosciusko REMC’s 74th Annual Meeting Announced
A long-standing cooperative tradition, this year’s annual meeting is the 74th for Kosciusko REMC.
On Saturday, April 20, the meeting will take place at Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Rd., Warsaw. Doors to the event will open at 8:30 a.m., and members can participate in a variety of activities during a pre-meeting expo.
Scheduled activities include health screenings by Kosciusko Community Hospital Health & Wellness Center, bucket truck rides (weather permitting), 2013 Power Moves Rebate display, energy advisor display, kids’ activities, free doughnuts and coffee, and more.
Eight candidates will vie for four positions on the Kosciusko REMC Board of Directors during the electric co-op’s annual meeting. Incumbents Kim Buhrt, Pam Messmore, Fred Powell and Tony Fleming are opposed by candidates Don Bokhart, Russell Boucher, Joe Stanley and Greg Harden, respectively. The business meeting will convene at 10 a.m. and include the board election, executive reports, announcement of the 2013 Touchstone Energy Camp and Washington, D.C. ,Youth Tour delegates, and prize drawings. In addition, children ages 4-12 will have their own program to attend featuring a magic show, photo booth and craft area.
This year’s entertainment will be provided by rising country music star Levi Riggs! Levi is from Danville, Ind. and has opened for The Band Perry and Easton Corbin.
Attending members will receive $8 credits on their electric bills, and will also have a chance to win one of many door prizes, including a 30-inch HDTV, Big Green Egg from the Outdoor Living Center, an iPad mini, electric bill credits, and more. Kids will also have special door prizes.
“This year’s annual meeting should be a lot of fun, and we encourage every KREMC member to attend,” said KREMC Board Chairman Bill Stump. “Every member has the right to help decide who will help lead KREMC into the future, and voting at the annual meeting is the way to exercise that right.”
