Bales Honored by IBCA
INDIANAPOLIS – Plymouth boys basketball coach Ryan Bales is one of six coaches statewide honored Tuesday by the IBCA.
Bales was tabbed by his coaching peers as one of the IBCA Coaches of the Year.
Bales posted a 21-4 mark in his second season as the Pilgrims coach during the 2012-13 campaign. He guided the Pilgrims to a Class 3-A sectional championship.
Bales, who played at North Judson High School and Bethel College, is 37-10 in his two seasons at Plymouth. He is 121-62 overall in eight seasons as a prep coach. Bales has also been selected to serve as an assistant coach for the 2013 Indiana Junior All-Star team.
Bales and Mike Hackett of Munster were chosen as honorees from District 1. Tabbed as Coaches of the Year from District 2 were Brad Dickey of Tipton and Steve Lynch of Mt. Vernon (Fortville). Honored from District 3 were Brent Chitty of Columbus East and Bryan Spear of Evansville Harrison.
The six coaches will be honored April 26-27 during the IBCA Spring Clinic in Indianapolis.
