Bloom, Yeo Tabbed For Top 60
INDIANAPOLIS – The outstanding duo of Jared Bloom of Warsaw and Clay Yeo of Triton are among a handful of area senior standouts selected for the Top 60 Workout.
Hoosier Basketball Magazine released the list Thursday of the top seniors statewide invited to take part in the 26th annual workout. The Top 60 will be held on April 7 at Marian University in Indianapolis.
Bloom, a 6-0 guard, was the top scorer at 17.7 points-per-game this past season for the Tigers. The clutch backcourt ace, who led his team in 3-pointers, paced coach Doug Ogle’s team to a Class 4-A sectional championship. Bloom, who had 15 points this past Monday for the winning team in the McDonald’s Michiana All-Star game held at Bethel College, is still undecided on college.
Yeo led his Triton team to a Class 1-A state runner-up finish last weekend. The 6-6 guard led the Trojans in every statistical category his senior season, including averaging 26 ppg. Yeo, who will play at Valparaiso University, finished his prep career as the all-time leading scorer in Marshall County history with 1,992 points.
Also named to the Top 60 list were Franko House of Concord, Markese McGuire of Elkhart Memorial and Brock Cosey of South Bend Riley. House has signed to play at Ball State, while McGuire is head to UIC.
The duo of Demetrius Jackson of Mishawaka Marian and Austin Torres of Penn were both selected, but are unable to participate. Jackson is a McDonald’s All-American. Both Jackson and Torres are Notre Dame recruits.
The Top 60 Workout will be held in two sessions April 7. Players primarily from Northern and Southern Indiana will take part from 1-3 p.m. with players from primarily Central Indiana from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Admission is $7.
