Warsaw Police Department Reports
Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:
- March 22, 8:29 a.m. Warsaw Community High School reported a juvenile who had been involved in the dealing of a narcotic drug.
- March 22, 2:30 p.m. Melody L. Lucht reported criminal mischief when her window was damaged from a BB gun at the 700 block of North Cook Street, Warsaw.
- March 23, 2:58 p.m. Police discovered Timothy Vermillion of Pierceton to be in possession of possible synthetic cannabinoid.
- March 23, 11:08 p.m. Police were called for the emergency detention of a female who attempted to hurt herself by taking pills mixed with alcohol.
- March 24, 1:34 p.m. Police arrested Nichole Caudill for battery with bodily injury after a domestic disturbance call.
- March 24, 4:59 p.m. Tara Engel reported a theft from her residence.
- March 24, 6:08 p.m. Police responded to a report of a field fire in the 2000 block of North Detroit Street.
Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, March 23, 3:15 p.m. East Clark and North Cook streets. Driver: Keith Pope, SR 17, Plymouth. Pope said his vehicle was parked in front of his residence when an unknown driver struck it and fled the scene. Damages: under $1,000
Saturday, March 23, 11:18 a.m. Lake City Highway. Drivers: Edward W. Ewing, 91, South 450 East, Pierceton; and Natividad Pasilla-Leos, 37, East U.S. 30, Pierceton. Ewing was westbound on U.S. 30 when he stopped for a left turn. Realizing he had driven too far over the white line for traffic, he began backing up and backed into Passillo-Leos. Passillo-Leos was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital on complaints of back pain. Veronica and Kevin Lara who were passengers in Pasillo-Leos’s vehicle were also taken to the hospital for complaints of pain to the ribs and stomach area. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 22, 5:23 p.m. Whitetail Run, Warsaw. Drivers: Harriet E. Ladd, 89, East Main Street, Warsaw; and Kathleen A. Ginter, Whitetail Run, Warsaw. Ladd was backing her vehicle out of her driveway when she failed to see a legally parked vehicle registered to Ginter behind her. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, March 22, 5:23 p.m. North Lake Street and West Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Janet Pullen, 35, West Lake Street, Warsaw; and Glen Douthitt, 44, East 100 North, Warsaw. Pullen did not see the traffic signal due to sunny conditions causing her to proceed through a red light and strike into Douthitt’s vehicle. Douthitt complained of pain to the hand but refused medical treatment after EMS arrived. Damages: up to $5,000
