Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Friday, March 22, 7:31 a.m. West 25 South, Etna Green. Driver: Hanna M. Losee, 23, 950 West, Etna Green. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 22, 8:55 a.m. South Main and East Huntington Streets, North Webster. Drivers: John Young, 33, Langford Lane, Fort Wayne; and Roy Messer, 61, EMS W19 Lane, North Webster. Young was eastbound on Huntington when he proceeded through the Main Street and Huntington intersection without stopping at the stop sign causing him to strike into Messer. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 22, 12:24 p.m. E. Crooked Mile Road and North Sir Lancelot Lane, Cromwell. Driver: Donald R. Phillips, 22, North Benton Street, Millersburg. Driver stated that the brakes on his truck went out and he was unable to stop. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, March 22, 8:21 p.m. West 600 North, Warsaw. Driver: Julie A. Kaufman, 44, West 800 North, Nappanee. Driver struck a deer in the roadway. Damages: up to 5,000
Friday, March 22, 9:31 p.m. East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Deanna L. Thomas, 34, East 500 North, North Webster. Driver struck a coyote in the roadway. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, March 23, 2:29 p.m. North 650 East. Drivers: Charles W. Spicker, 73, EMS B25 Lane, Pierceton; and Timothy A. Burelison, 50, EMS R3E Lane, Pierceton. Spicker was traveling south when Burelison, who was northbound, began entering his lane and struck Spicker’s mirror. Burelison failed to notice the contact and continued home and was later located by police. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, March 23, 2:35 p.m. 44 EMS T34 Lane, Leesburg. Drivers: Dianna L. Biesemeyer, 24, East Mock Road, Milford; and Trenton L. Weisser, East Mock Road, Milford. Biesemeyer was backing out of a driveway when she struck Trenton Weisser’s parked BMW. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, March 23, 2:54 p.m. North SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: James W. Mansfield, 68, East Smith Street. Driver struck a dog that ran into the roadway. Damages: under $1,000
Saturday, March 23, 5:33 p.m. East 500 North, North Webster. Driver: Todd F. Landry, 29, SR 15, Silver Lake. Landry, who was discovered later at his father’s home, advised police that he was eastbound on 500 N. when a deer crossed his path and caused him to leave the roadway, striking into a utility pole. Landry was arrested for driving while suspended and for leaving the scene of an accident. Damages: up to $5,000
Sunday, March 24, 11:34 p.m. South SR 25, Warsaw. Driver: Leslie A. Reyes, 47, West 600 North. Reyes was northbound on SR 25 when her vehicle began to slide on a snowy roadway causing her to go into a ditch. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, March 24, 11:44 p.m. East U.S. 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Alexus Patterson, 17 South 325 East, Warsaw; Matthew B. Western, 30, Dayton, Ohio. Patterson was eastbound on U.S. 30 when she attempted to make a left turn. Patterson did not see Western and collided into his vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
