Warsaw Police Department Reports
Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:
- March 19, 1:50 p.m. Rex Snyder was reported dead by natural causes.
- March 19, 1:55 p.m. Two boys followed dogs out of the house after they let them out causing a juvenile complaint.
- March 19, 9:45 p.m. Police arrested two parties for possession of methamphetamine and precursors at 2211 E. Center St.
- March 20, 1:31 p.m. Amitanand Khemu Borkar reported his vehicle had been hit by a suspect who fled the scene.
- March 20, 5:21 p.m. Angelica Vaca complained that her prescription pills were stolen from her purse at Mason Health Care.
- March 20, 6:13 p.m. Police arrested Allen Kalabsa at 2518 E. Center St. for possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors and manufacturing methamphetamine.
- March 20, 8:10 p.m. Walmart Supercenter reported a shoplifter at their location.
Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, March 18, 5:32 a.m. West Market and South Buffalo streets. Drivers: Unknown; Steven Bean, 36, North Fourth Street, Pierceton. Bean was traveling east on West Market Street approaching the flashing yellow light at Buffalo Street when a vehicle traveling south on Buffalo disregarded the flashing red light and collided into Bean’s driver side door. The vehicle then proceeded to pull away and flee the scene of the accident. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, March 19, 4:24 p.m. North Detroit and East Main Streets. Drivers: Carol Hennessy, 68, Fox Farm Road, Warsaw; and Catherine Kincaid, 20, West Howard Street, Galveston. Hennessy was southbound on Detroit Street at Main when she entered the intersection on a red light and struck into Kincaid, who had a green light and was traveling westbound. Damages: up to $25,000
Tuesday, March 19, 5:08 p.m. 310 E. Main Street. Drivers: Charles Taylor, 60, West Market Street, Warsaw; and J.F. Brito-Delgado, Wooster Road, Pierceton. Taylor was pulling into a parking space at the Warsaw Public Library when he sideswiped a parked vehicle registered to Brito-Delgado. Taylor left the scene of the accident and was reported by a witness. Taylor stated he did not realize he had hit the parked vehicle when he left the scene. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, March 20, 6:01 p.m. SR 15 and 1 Tiger Lane. Drivers: Lauren Rogers, 22, Southwood Drive, Warsaw; and Alison Schemmer, 22, Steven Drive, Warsaw. Rogers was northbound on SR 15 approaching Tiger Lane when she collided with Schemmer’s stopped car in front of her. This caused Rogers to run over a mailbox and into a utility pole. NIPSCO reported the pole received little to no damage. Damages: up to $10,000
Wednesday, March 20, 3 p.m. Lake City Highway and North Detroit Street. Driver: Charissa Heeter, 17, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Heeter was southbound on Detroit Street and turned right onto the on ramp of Lake City Highway. Heeter was going too fast and slid on the gravel causing her to run into a concrete barrier head on. Heeter was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital on complaints of head, neck and shoulder pain. A passenger in Heeter’s vehicle, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of collision, complained of chest pain but was transported to the hospital by a personally owned vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000
