The Downtown Goes Smoke-Free
“Basically, the smoke was getting so bad and due to other (establishments) going smoke-free, we made the decision to do the same. We want to reach out to our non-smoking customers,” said Kristi Boren, co-owner of The Downtown.
Boren tells StaceyPageOnline.com that the decision was made after the non-smoking clientele and employees noticed how bad the smoke was getting. “We want to focus on our food. We have really good food,” Boren said, noting the local favorites are the Kaiser sub, seafood melt, grilled items and the Downtown Build-a-Burger.
The smoking customers still have an area of the outdoor patio where they can smoke, but the inside – as of Monday – has gone smoke-free.
The Downtown is open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
