Syracuse Hosting A Safety Day
Syracuse has announced it is holding its first Safety Day event in April. Safety Day is designed to educate and engage kids in the best safety related practices in a variety of settings and situations.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, Syracuse Safety Day at the Syracuse Community Center will involve many non-profit organizations, service organizations and government agencies that are pooling their resources to administer safety related activities.
Among the activities that day will be a bike rodeo with bike and helmet inspections, car seat inspections, child ID kits, drug awareness, water safety and disaster education. Police K9 units are also slated to be on hand for demonstrations.
Groups and organizations taking part in the day will include Kosciusko County Safe Kids, Kosciusko County 4-H, Syracuse Police Department, Turkey Creek Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Kosciusko County American Red Cross, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Syracuse Lions, Boy Scout Troop 728 and the Wawasee Kiwanis.
