Warsaw Mayoral Candidate Named In Federal Complaint
A one-time candidate for mayor in Warsaw is being mentioned in a federal complaint filed by former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White. White has filed the complaint alleging his civil rights were violated when Hamilton County prosecutors prosecuted him for mortgage and voter fraud.
Tony Miller of Warsaw is among 69 politicians and political candidates noted in White’s complaint where questions about their legal residency were raised, but no actions were ever taken. Miller sought the Warsaw Mayor office in the 2011 election. Miller registered to vote using his company’s address in the city instead of using is residence, which is located outside of the city limits.
Others noted in White’s complaint are current Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, judges in several counties and former Secretary of State Evan Bayh.
The 65-page complaint was filed March 4. White alleges his civil rights were violated when he was singled out and convicted of voter fraud for voting from where he did not reside. The complaint identifies 69 other political candidates and elected officials who he says have engaged in the same activity dating back to 1955.
White was sentenced to one-year of home detention but is appealing the conviction.
