Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, March 7, 8:19 a.m. North 500 West, Warsaw. Driver: Alexis N. Travis, 17, West 550 North, Warsaw. Travis said a black pickup truck crossed the line into her lane, causing her to run off of the road and strike a sign. Damages: up to $2,500
Thursday, March 7, 8:09 a.m. North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Gustavo A. Rodriguez, 17, Hovey Street, Atwood; and Caleb M. Moneyheffer, 17, East 700 North, Leesburg. Rodriguez was pulling out of a driveway onto Fox Farm and failed to see Moneyheffer approaching. The vehicles collided. Damages: up to $10,000
Thursday, March 7, 8:02 a.m. North SR 13 and East Vawter Park Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer C. McPherson, 34, Kuder Lane, Warsaw; Sharon J. Hoover, 43, North Polyana Pike, Cromwell; and Franklin N. Dausman, 30, West 650 North, Pierceton. McPherson was southbound on SR 13 when the vehicles in front her suddenly slowed to a stop. She was unable to avoid colliding with Hoover’s vehicle, which was forced into Dausman’s vehicle. McPherson and Hoover complained of pain. Damages: up to $5,000
Thursday, March 7, 7:35 a.m. East Backwater Road, North Webster. Driver: Bethany L. Stephens, 26, North 825 East, North Webster. Driver lost control on a patch of ice and collided with a suspension wire. Damages: up to $5,000
Thursday, March 7, 7:20 a.m. West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Heidi A. Warrix, 34, North 350 West, Warsaw. Driver lost control on the ice covered bridge. The vehicle spun multiple times and struck a guardrail. Damages: up to $2,500
Thursday, March 7, 7:18 a.m. North 100 East, Warsaw. Driver: Zachary T. Shepler, 18, North Southwinds Trail, Warsaw. Driver lost control when another driver pulled in front of him. Mary Lemen of Barrington Place, Warsaw, advised she did pull into Shepler’s path because she failed to see him. Shepler’s vehicle struck a utility pole. Damages: up to $5,000

- March 7, 5 p.m. Philip Menzie of Pierceton reported a burglary.
- March 7, 1:56 p.m. Pam Polk, Leesburg, reported a burglary.
- March 7, 6:16 a.m. Rebecca Coon of Pierceton reported the theft of medication from her residence.
- March 6, 11:08 p.m. Steve Meck of Warsaw reported someone was messing around Lot 43 in Whispering Pines.
- March 5, 5:05 p.m. A suicide attempt was reported in Etna Green.
