Robert Wade Blosser

BlosserRobert Wade Blosser, 90, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, Ind.

He was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Roy P. and Orpha E. (Kring) Blosser. He was a 1940 graduate of New Paris High School and he was a lifetime member of Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren in Nappanee. Robert married Phyllis J. Watkins on Feb. 23, 1946, in Milford, Ind. She survives.

He was a farmer, and had lived and worked on the family farm his entire life. Robert was still farming and driving the combine until he was 88.

She is survived by sons: Dennis L. Blosser, Nappanee; Brad D. (Janene) Blosser, Nappanee; daughter: Vicki (Ron) Wedel, Nappanee; grandchildren: Matthew (Lyndi) Blosser, Nappanee; Adam Blosser, Nappanee; and Nathan (Katie) Mikel, Etna Green; step-grandson: Robert Wedel; five great-grandchildren: Brayden and Bryce Blosser, Lauren, Ryan and Megan Mikel; and sisters: Phyllis Beer, Nappanee; and Lonita (Ray) Cheechio, Elkhart, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a step-grandson: Brant Wedel.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, as well as from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the former Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren in Nappanee. Reverend Roger Eberly will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Family Christian Development Center.
