Forbes Names Richest Hoosiers
Forbes Magazine has announced the richest Hoosiers and topping the list is Gayle Cook. Cook, who helped found Bloomington-based Cook Medical group with her late-husband, Bill, has an estimated net worth of $4 billion, which is more than last year’s estimate of $3.4 billion. Cook ranks 329th in the world’s richest people rankings.
Also making the Forbes list is Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. Co-Founder Herb Simon. He net worth rose from $1.8 billion last year to an estimated $2.2 billion this year. He is 670th in the world.
Dean White has been declared the third richest Hoosier. The owner of Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Corp., White has maintained an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion and ranks 831st overall.
Also in the top 4 is Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts. He ranks 974th worldwide as he saw his net worth increase from $1.4 billion in 2012 to $1.5 billion.
