NOBLESVILLE — Hannah Haines stepped to the line and hit the biggest shots of her life. At the 2013 Knights of Columbus state free throw contest held Saturday at Guerin Catholic High School in Noblesville, Haines made the shots necessary to be tabbed as state champion in the three-stage contest.

Having advanced from the sectional and regional levels in February, the Milford eighth grader won the 14-year-old division by making 16 of 25 free throws in the first round and four of five in the tiebreaker to win the title.

Haines, a student at Milford Middle School, is the daughter of Brian and Vicki Haines.
