Dick Harvey
Dick Harvey, 78, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, in his residence Warsaw.
He was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Wabash, Ind., to J.B. and Delight (Lindemuth) Harvey.
He was united in marriage to Dawn Graves. Their union lasted 52 wonderful years.
Dick faithfully served his country from Aug. 20, 1951, to Aug. 5, 1955, in the United Sates Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Eversole DD789 as a Boatswain’s Mate during the Korean Conflict. After the cease fire on July 27, 1953, the Eversole was deployed to the Formosa Straits (now the Taiwan Straits).
He was a self-employed exterminator for over 50 years as owner/operator of Warsaw Pest Control. His memberships include life membership in the following organizations: American Legion Post 15 of Wabash, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 286 of Wabash, Korean War Veterans Association, the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife: Dawn Harvey, Warsaw; a son: Bret (Sarah) Adams Harvey, Huntington, Ind.; and grandchildren: Claire Harvey and Will Harvey, both of Huntington, Ind.
At his request there will be no public calling or services. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements.
