O. Jeanette Ragan
O. Jeanette Ragan, 84, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in her home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Warsaw to Virgil C. and Opal O. (Phillips) Smith. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1947 and was a lifetime Warsaw resident.
On Jan. 9, 1948, she married Pat H. Ragan in Warsaw.
She retired from Kimble Glass Inc. where she had worked for many years, then went to work for AMPI for 10 years. She was an active member of Delta Theta Tau, was a very devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest moments were those she spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who loved and knew her.
Jeanette was an avid sports fan and especially liked basketball (San Antonio Spurs) and Notre Dame football. She was a Peyton Manning fan.
She is survived by a daughter: Kathy C. Ragan, Silver Lake, Ind.; a son: S. Douglas (Grazia “Grace”) Ragan, Schererville, Ind.; three grandchildren: Stephen D. Ragan II, Schererville; Chelsey R. Ragan, North Webster, Ind.; Patrick C. Ragan, Warsaw; two step-granddaughters: Michelle D. (Andre) Helton, Schererville; Sandra L. Kulchawick, Highland, Ind.; three great-grandchildren: Madison, Gavin and Kyle; and a brother: Virgil C. “Sonny” (Marlene) Smith, Kernersville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Pat H. Ragan; a son: Kelley J. Ragan; parents: Virgil C. and Opal O. Smith; two sisters: LaVon Ohmart and Frances Lloydand; and her step-father: Raymond “Fuzz” Neff.
Visitation will from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry McCall, Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake, Ind. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
