Milford Public Library Seeking Donations
The Milford Public Library states that due to continuing cuts to the library’s operating budget, many of the library’s programs have become increasingly difficult to finance. According to the library, many members of the community have partaken in the libraries numerous services and activities available.
There are several ways you can assist the library in raising funds. The library offers the Friends of the Library membership program to assist in obtaining the necessary funding to continue provided the community with the services and programs many have enjoyed. You may also offer support for the Summer Reading Program, the “Lights Out” event, and other programs the library has hosted
Membership costs are $5 for individual students and senior citizens 60 years or older, $10 for adult individuals, $15 for a family membership and $20 for a corporation. Those interested may email Marti Thompson at [email protected] for a membership application or stop in at the library to pick one up.
Another option to provide the library with the much needed monetary funds is by purchasing the Friends of the Library Milford Community Cookbook. The library will host a release party for the new cookbook titled, “What’s Cooking in Milford” from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. The library will provide refreshments made from cookbook recipes and door prizes. Cookbooks may be purchased during the event.
