Dream Council Commits To Pursue Dreams

Forty-one middle school students – seventh graders and eighth graders from Edgewood and Lakeview – met at the Warsaw Community Schools central office on Jan. 30 to move the WCS mission forward.

These students, the middle school “Dream Council,” read, discussed, planned, negotiated, listened and came to consensus. The result of their planning, preparation, and hard work was a statement of four commitments that staff and students at both middle schools will act upon so the mission gets to every seventh and eighth grader. The Dream Council will present their commitments to students and staff and work to implement these four actions. They committed to bringing in speakers to help connect students to their dreams and work toward more course offerings that help students pursue dreams. To enrich the lives of others, they committed to taking action to stop bullying and giving back to our larger community in a variety of ways.
