Ruby Howard
Ruby Howard, 62, of Ligonier, Ind., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier.
She was born June 23, 1950, in Brooksville, Fla., to Frank and Audrey Emma Jean (Perry) Shell.
She grew up in Kentucky and attended public school there. She moved to the Warsaw area about 20 years ago from Kentucky and formerly attended the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Warsaw. She was formerly employed at Wildman Uniform & Linen in Warsaw and at Warsaw Chemical.
She is survived by a daughter: Tanya (Bruce) Reinhart, Syracuse, Ind.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Annabelle (Cecil) Jarvis, Little Paint, Ky.; and Jamie Sue Shell, Springfield, Tenn.; four brothers: Ballard (Dana) Shell, Warsaw; Charles (Pearl) Shell, Allen, Ky.; Bill Shell, Salyersville, Ky.; and Frank (Minerva) Shell Jr., Royalton, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: James N. Collins; and three brothers: David, Freddy and Edgar Forrest Shell.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Wednesday with Pastor Glen Hughes of the church officiating.
